We’ve all seen (or heard of) The Jetsons, a 60s cartoon set into the future featuring the life of a futuristic family and their lifestyle surrounded by machinery and robots. George Jetson goes to work at Spacely Sprockets an hour a day, two days a week. While his ‘homemaker’ wife Jane Jetson leaves all the homemaking tasks to their robot maid Rosie and goes shopping.
The show was a hit but was it an accurate indicator of our future? We see more and more tasks being done by advancing technology and robots. So do we need to be concerned for our own jobs? And our economy?
