Owning an operating a biotech company comes with long timelines, high capital and high business failure rates, and in order to get a product developed by the biotech into its first stage of commercialization, the companies require the funds and connections to do so. This has resulted in Canadian biotech companies trying to attract bigger companies to purchase them.
