Gentrification and the persistence of poor minority neighborhoods

Richard Florida at CityLab takes a look at a new study on the relationship between race, inequality  and gentrification in American cities. The study, which looked at Chicago neighborhoods, found that the neighborhoods with at least 35% white residents and at most 40% African American residents fared best when it came to improving and eventually gentrifying.
