US homelessness drops third year in a row

The number of people in the United States who are homeless has dropped for the third straight year according to the results of a new Housing and Urban Development Department survey. The survey found there were more than 610,000 people homeless on a single night in the last week of January, down 4 per cent from 633,782 in the previous year.
