Urban design: Is your waterfront a back door or front door?

The waterfronts of American have been long-term landscapes for technology and industry. Developers are looking at cities that border on rivers and oceans to take a step back and see what they could be doing differently. These areas can be seen as indicators of overall community health. Cities need to “redefine” their waterfronts so they have more of a front door policy, which will have a positive effect on the residents in the area.
