Men are disappearing from the workforce

It is interesting seeing the change of trends for men in the workforce over the years. In 1956, 98 percent were male, compared to 88 percent in 2012. Why has this trend occurred? The main factors are that men: went to prison, were on disability, or have given up trying to find a job. This trend is found particularly in less educated men because the job market has shifted from blue collar to more skillfully trained.
