Laurel Broten, Ontario’s minister responsible for women’s issues, announced that the Government of Ontario will work with the Ontario Securities Commission to develop new rules designed to get more women onto boards, specifically the provincial government. This program will mean it is less likely for corporations to be forced to hire unqualified board members so that they can meet quotas. Instead, the program will help to break our economy out of the rut that it has been in for the last 10 years.
