Podcast: Are there too many Ph.D.s and not enough jobs?

Science, technology, engineering and math jobs and education have been significant topics of discussion in the USA lately. On the one hand, more STEM workers are needed. On the other, American students are lagging behind when it comes to math and science test scores. But according to numbers released by the National Science Foundation, Ph.D’s are struggling to find jobs in their fields. In fact, those with doctoral degrees have less than a 50% chance of being employed full-time. NPR covers this story in a recent podcast.
