Good urban design makes us healthier, says decade-long study

A new study from Australia has found that walkable neighborhoods have a direct impact on improving the health of the local community. According to the study, each nearby shop, for instance, causes locals to walk for an extra five minutes a week, and local parks or beaches result in people walking an additional 21 minutes per week.
