Forget the good jobs report, long-term unemployment is still terrifying

While there was some good news in the most recent American unemployment numbers. But for those who have been jobless for more than six months, the picture is pretty bleak according to Matthew O’Brien at The Atlantic. In fact, the number people who have been unemployed for more than six months grew by 89,000 last month and the long-term unemployment rate is higher than it has been since 1948. This is in stark contrast to those who have been unemployed for less than six months. O’Brien takes a closer look at what these numbers mean for the unemployed and America’s recovery.
